Was ist Flattr?

In a recent article I read in the Atlantic there is talk of the chickenhawk as a very american phenomenon, even describing the USA as a "chickenhawk nation".
Intrigued, I searched the term in the Urban Dictionary an found as the second definition:

A politician or other person who promotes war without having had any personal experience of it; especially those who have avoided the experience.

This looks to me as a very narrow and peculiar form of draft dodging hypocrisy, and coming obviously from a country that has elevated hypocrisy to an art form that is considered a virtue (at least they are coherent in their hypocrisy, I must grant them that much) it is no wonder that they have coined a term for it. My only problem now is how to translate this into Spanish or German, as, being the So Called Ruler Of The United States the person he is, the term will surely pop up in a speech soon in a meeting. And then, what is a poor interpreter to say?

Even it has no equal meaning, I can feel that the German word "Gummiadler" must be somehow related to this expression.
Probably "Gummiadler" was the ancestor or at least a role model for Chickenhawk.

I see what you mean, Gerald, thanks for your contribution. The colo(u)r seems to be right too, at least in my picture. On the other hand, a chickenhawk avoids the draft, whilst a \"Gummiadler"\ could be considered a biological weapon, only one that even Americans would be able to find. My, they might even eat it!
